Exciting news vino fans – the brilliant Birmingham Wine Weekend is back this year and it’s bigger and better than ever.

Taking place over an entire week this time, the event will run from 4– 10 April and includes the most participating venues (across more of the city) since its launch in 2018.

To make the most of the week-long celebration of wine, organisers are also planning more hands on events* at some of the best venues in the city, some with tempting food offers.

Take a look at the event line up because let me tell you now – you guys are in for a real treat this year. We’re talking multiple master classes (if you like cheese or steak you’re going to be very happy), wine fuelled walking tours, dinners with top sommeliers and lots more.

Venues for 2022 include bars like Arch 13, Ikagai, Wine Freedom and The Pineapple Club; restaurants such as Gaucho, Fazenda and Chapter are also taking part. The full list is now live – check it out.

The big change for 2022 (aside from the bigger line up and more wines to try) is that wristbands are being replaced with a snazzy app. Buying a ticket online will give you access to your Wine Pass that you can use to tailor your Birmingham Wine Weekend experience.

The app aspect is a really cool upgrade in my opinion. We’re talking interactive maps to help you navigate the city venues, exclusive access to the offers and events, access to tasting notes on all wines – it’s basically like having an expert tour guide in your pocket.

Like to know your choices in advance or prefer a surprise? Well this year you can choose as the app can be personalised to your WW journey. It’s all part of the organisers plans to allow you guys to enjoy all the festivities how YOU want to.

Showing your Wine Pass at each participating venue will unlock specially selected wines at fantastic prices. Each of the venues will be serving two of the following:
• Specially selected glass of wine (£5)
• Perfect wine and canapé pairing (£7)
• Some venues even have premium wine flights to try.

Alex Nicholson-Evans, Founder of Birmingham Wine Weekend, says:

“I am so excited to be bringing Birmingham Wine Weekend back for 2022. We’ve got our best ever venue line up, over 50 incredible wines and a truly epic schedule of special events too.

“Plus, the introduction of the BWW App means that festival go-ers can enjoy all the things they already know and love about BWW, but in a more personalised and innovative way. It’s going to be a very special year for the festival.”

E-tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here for £10+ booking fee. Amazingly, they’re the same price as last time, which is great value across the 7 days of fun planned!
