BIRMINGHAM WINE WEEKEND
THE JOURNAL
THIS WEEK’S HOT SPOT
This week we’re drinking at The Birmingham Whisky Club, and shocker…we’re not drinking whisky.
If you haven’t already visited this hidden gem of a venue, be sure to pop in during #BWW2019. You can expect a super friendly and personal service. We perched at the barrel bar and chatted to the owner Amy, also known as The Whisky Miss. Sitting in the space and listening to Amy you soon realise that this bar & tasting rooms is a realisation of a long held dream of hers. And it’s a completely charming space that you’ll find yourself wanting to return to time and time again. Imagine rich, deep colours on the walls, a showpiece barrel bar and walls lined with the biggest whisky collection in the city.
In addition to over 300 whiskies you’ll find a small but well formed wine list. This week you’ll find us sipping their smooth Chilean Pinot Noir, Claro Reserva. Order this if you like a light, juicy, fresh flavour with a hint of ripe cherries. Priced at £5.20 for a small glass, it won’t break the bank either.
You’ll find The Birmingham Whisky Club next to The Museum of the Jewellery Quarter just a 1 minute walk from the JQ tram & train station.
Fancy stopping by, don’t worry you don’t need to be a member to pop in…but memberships (with plenty of perks) are available.
